Monitors

Monitors

Currently typical monitors range from 19" wide (diagonal measurement of screen) to 32" wide. Generally the bigger the screen the greater the energy consumption.

Another choice to make is whether to buy a monitor with built-in speakers. Built-in speakers reduce the amount of clutter on your desk, but they generally have inferior sound quality to seperate speakers.

There are 4 different standard inputs for monitors - VGA (also called D-Sub), DVI, HDMI & Display Port. HDMI is the most prolific standard at the moment and getting a monitor with an HDMI input is recommended for most situations.
